About Our Area

Located in northern Marinette
County, Jungle Jim's in the heart of the northwoods and close
to many outdoor recreational opportunities. This regeion has
long been a popular destination for northwoods vacationers as
well as hunters and fishermen. With over 250 square miles of
all-season vacationland, the lands and waters in the Silver Cliff
area offere something special to those who visit this area. We
invite you and your family to come and enjoy our extensive recreational
facilities.
The waters in this area
offer many unique and diverse activities. We have whitewater
rafting and kayaking on the upper stretch of the Peshtigo River,
the best in the Midwest. There are also a record number of waterfalls
in Marinette County, and many are easily accessable for viewing. |

Fishing is also a major area
activity. We are just minutes away from High Falls and Caldron
Falls Flowages, with everything from small pan fish to trophy
size muskies. In addition, there are countless smaller lakes,
rivers and streams offering a full range of fishing experiences.
Marinette County has more class A trout streams than anywhere
else in the state of Wisconsin. In the winter, ice fishing is
enjoyed by many, with a number of popular fishing derbies on
local lakes throughout the season. |

The lands in this area are
special too. There are many acres of Marinette County Forest
land open to the public as well as 22 County Parks. Also close
by are the Governor Thompson State Park, the Peshtigo River State
Forest, and the Nicolet National Forest in neighboring Oconto
County. These rustic, wilderness areas offer abundant wildlife
and natural beauty and a variety of hiking, biking and cross
country ski trails available for your use. The ATV Trail comes
right to our door and connects you to the trails in northern
Marinette County and beyond to the trail systems in Oconto County
and the UP of Michigan. |

Thousands of acres of public
hunting grounds attract growing numbers of hunters each year.
Whether you hunt with rifle, shotgun or bow, you owe it to yourself
to at least one season of hunting in the Silver Cliff area.
For the winter sports enthusiast,
we are right on the Iron Snowshoe Snowmobile Trails, where Corridor 7 heads into the
Caldron Falls and High Falls Flowage area, and there is gas with
24 hour credit card pumps right down the road. You can ride one
way, and go for the action and excitement of the flowages area,
or got the other way for a more remote ride through thousands
of acres of county land and the Nicolet National Forest. |

Also enjoyed in the winter
is ice fishing on the Flowages as well as many nearby lakes.
Fishing Derbys and Snowmobile Radar Runs are held in the area
throughout the season.
